Italian Fish Soup Recipe

February 4, 2018

If you enjoy white fish, vegetables, tomato sauce and pasta, this soup is for you. It’s the perfect combination of very straightforward ingredients, some of which are pre-made and don’t require any prep work. I haven’t prepared a soup like this in a long time and within just a few fast minutes, it was finished. The end result was a great tasting, hearty and very filling dish.

The Recipe

For this recipe, I used some fresh cod, some frozen vegetables, some tomato pasta sauce and some dry pasta. The most I had to do was cut up the cod. That wasn’t very difficult. The entire project is really only combining some ingredients in a pot and letting them cook for about ten minutes. This is one of those soups that you can enjoy after a long and tiring day, when you’re just not in the mood to cook. The flavors are great and again, the soup is very filling.

Ingredients

Serves: 2

4 Ounces Skinless White Fish (Halibut, Cod)
1 Cup Meatless Tomato Sauce
3/4 Cup Vegetable Broth
3/4 Cup Water
1 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning
3/4 Cup Dry Small Pasta Shells
1 1/2 Cups Frozen Vegetable Variety

Step-by-Step Instructions

I’d like to thank Favorite Brand Name Recipes once again for this recipe. It’s just as good as all the others I’ve already prepared and I have a good feeling about the future. There are a lot more in store. I already have them bookmarked.

Prep the Fish

Cut the fish into one inch pieces. Then, place the pieces in a bowl.

Combine Ingredients

In a large pot, combine the pasta sauce, vegetable broth, water, dry pasta and seasoning. Cover the pot and bring the liquid to a boil over high heat. When it begins to boil, reduce the heat to low and let simmer for five minutes.

After that, add in the fish and the frozen vegetables. Raise the heat to high again and bring the liquid back to a boil. Stir everything together well. Then, cover the pot again and reduce the heat to medium-low and let everything cook for another five minutes.

When finished, turn off the heat.

Plate & Serve

Divide the soup between some bowls and serve. Enjoy!

About Jay Gaulard

My name is Jay Gaulard and I'm what I like to call an "inexperienced chef," if that's not an oxymoron. I initially decided to immerse myself into the world of food and cooking in May of 2015, when I began growing, in earnest, my first garden. The garden produced a wonderful yield and with some newfound confidence, my hobby of learning about what I eat took shape. Currently, I'm enrolled in an online cooking school and am quite active with the culinary community. I primarily write posts about what I research and learn along the way.
