Although it is simple to prepare, it can be made with a variety of extra toppings. This will make your snack or meal of both complex and nutrient dense. I know, you are probably tired of hearing about avocado toast out there on the interwebs, but trust me, this combination is quite enjoyable and lives up to all the hype.

The Recipe

I would like to thank Kate from Cookie & Kate for this easy and quick recipe. This toast is a nice source of plant-based fiber and a high-protein option and will keep you feeling full. With several combinations to choose from, you can pile your toast with lots of smashed avocado, veggies, herbs, fried eggs, and much more. This recipe is creamy, crispy, and makes for a complete breakfast, snack, or paired with a side dish for a satisfying meal.

The Ingredients

1 Slice of Bread
1/2 Ripe Avocado
Pinch of Salt

Optional: Any of the Extra Toppings Suggested in this Post That Strike Your Fancy.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Toast your slice of bread until golden and firm.

Remove the pit from your avocado. Use a big spoon to scoop out the flesh.

Next, mash up the avocado with a fork until it’s as smooth as you like it. Mix in a pinch of salt (about 1/8 teaspoon) and add more to taste, if desired.

About Laura G

Hi, I'm Laura G. A photographer, blogger and self-proclaimed food connoisseur.

As a child, I was exposed to a wide variety of foods. My mother had my siblings and me try foods at least once and if we didn't like what we tasted, we didn't have to eat it again. Luckily, I enjoyed almost everything that I tried. Unfortunately, in my adult years, I've been living with an autoimmune disease that has forced me to reevaluate my food choices. Even though I can no longer eat the foods I once enjoyed, many great alternatives have presented themselves. I believe we truly are what we eat and I look for the best food ingredients to fuel my body. I hope the recipes here on this food blog inspire you in your own food preparation endeavors.
