Hi. My name is Jay Gaulard and I’m a full time blogger from Maine. I’ve been writing since 2006 and by this point, I’ve probably written well over 2,500 posts. When I think about that number, my head spins.
Over the years, I’ve pretty much covered every topic on earth. Examples might be home improvement, automobiles, travel – you name it. Something I’ve attempted to write about, though, but was never very successful at, was cooking. For some reason, I just couldn’t make that area work for me. That is, until I recently began taking online cooking classes. Now, all I think about is food. I’ve got so much material on my “plate,” I could write for years.
I’m not going to tell you that cooking has always been a passion of mine…
I mean, as I began growing up, meandering into my twenties, my appreciation for food became more apparent. But while I enjoyed taste and was able to discern good from bad, the urge for trying my hand at creation hadn’t revealed itself. Luckily, I’m much more mature today. Twenty years have passed since then and my relaxed way has given itself some breathing room to think and to begin delving into the nuances of what others have devoted their lives to. Cuisine.
On this website…
I’m going to talk about cooking. I’d like to include a lot of technique because I’m really into that aspect. I’d also like to include breakdowns of recipes. I enjoy analyzing the details of things, so the preparation and construction of a dish should keep my wheels turning. Another area I’m excited about is what others are experiencing in the culinary world. One of my favorite pastimes is asking questions, so you can expect interesting and entertaining interviews on this site. And last, but not least, I’m going to write about the basics of cooking, because after all, that’s what I’ll be learning along the way. That’s truly the impetus of this blog. To learn and then write.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. You can shoot me an email or leave a comment on any post at any time. I’d love to hear from you!
